The Last Three Mesquiteers Film with Reynaldo and Hatton

This film begins shortly after the Spanish-American War, with several veterans planning to take advantage of a government program that allows them to homestead on former government land in Oklahoma. To help them, the Three Mesquiteers, who served with them in the war, have agreed to guide them to a good spot to start their new lives. Unfortunately, once they arrive, they quickly find that the local cattle ranchers don't want them using the land where they graze their livestock, and they plan to make things as difficult as possible for them. One particular rancher, named "Mace Liscomb" (William Ruhl), is even willing to use violence if necessary. I won't reveal too much, but depending on which list you consult, this was either the 31st or the 34th entry in the Three Mesquiteers series. Regardless, in this particular movie, Robert Livingston reprises his role as "Stony Brook," alongside his partners, Duncan Renaldo ("Rico") and Raymond Hatton ("Rusty Joslin"). Although both Renaldo and Hatton have proven themselves in their past roles, for some reason, they didn't seem to get much chance to show their skills here. I'm not sure why. To be sure, Robert Livingston performed very well, but overall, I didn't consider this one of the stronger entries in the series, and I've rated it accordingly.
