am i watching the same show all these supporters are?i had such high hopes for this show and what a disappointment it has turned out to be. a teenage terminator??? why? everyone says she fits in, but it's only because they liked her so much in firefly which was a mediocre show in it's self, want proof, how long was it on? i see this show going the same way. how long is john going to cry about his lot in life? he's almost a man(age wise) but real life experience's he's miles ahead of anyone his age (as she pointed out tonight) and should have already excepted who and what he is. instead he's still whinnying about how he don't want this position he has been born into and instead of being a grateful teen he blames his mother for everything,in reality he's the one to blame for at least 1/2 of their problems. also why couldn't they use an actor with a little more size and strength? instead of this skinny little twig!come on he's the savior of the whole wide world, at least make him hit the weights to bulk up a little. i just watched it tonight for the first time since the middle of last season, which is all i could take from this whinnying little butt head! what did i get for an hour of my life? the same thing i was watching last season. nothing has changed, and he's still whinnying about what he has to do. and what about Sarah? when Linda did the role they started her out doing chin ups in her wacko room! she bulked up because she knew it was going to take more than brains to win this war against robots. what did we get in this new show? a skinny mom who can't seem to bring herself to hardly hit someone let alone eliminate a security risk. example: tonight, she should of shot the girl in the bathroom, but like always, she lets her go and what happens? everybody and their brother knew what was coming next, the terminator found her, so unpredictable right? ya right. and how did the terminator loose her inability to tell when someone is lying to her? at times Sarah acts like she's going to get mean and tough but then she wimps out, she try's to be tough on John but she has not done the job of training him to save the world, lets face it he's not going to learn that in school is he? this kid has to be tough and rigid, not wimpy and whinny, he's been told all his life about how tough he has to be and evidently she's not getting the job done or else he'd step up by now. no more school, he's already smarter than the kids in his school or did you for get how he ripped off bank accounts with his computer, and how he broke into Cyberdyne systems and out witted their top of the line security system? he should be physically training for the war to come and she should be taking the lead in that as she was in t2, but she's not physically fit her self, she always looks like she's on drugs. she lacks the kill or be killed attitude, lets face it how long can this show last with them doing the same thing every week with the "we got go john the terminator found us again". of course he found them, with the clues they leave i could find them. and the female terminator? why would they send a girl and not a guy? why are they trying to make her more human? she's a killer a robot not to mention she's smaller and can't handle the male robot, how is that possible?they come off the same terminator line, or is there baby terminators to? oops i just gave the writers a new idea dang. so far this protector has done a lousy job of protecting anybody let alone just them 3 which is what she is suppose to do. but she lets them get into more than one high risk situations. how long before they learn they can't do these things? it seems to me that they are always talking about how he has to except what he is, but they always work against what they should be doing. i thought that since the writers strike was over that the writing would get better, but it hasn't which shows that the writers are partly to blame, they have figured out that they can write as bad as their replacement did and people will put up with it for awhile, this show like so many others has fallen way short of how good it really could be,with the right actors ,actresses and writers. i'm sorry to say but i won't be tuning in next week, i'll give it another 4-6 months and if i see the same old same old, i'll be tuning out for good, i hope they do something about it or it'll be, poor writing = poor ratings = no show = out of work actors. i could say more but whats the use,i hope this helps, thanks butch
Having seen the pilot of this series, I wonder how long it'll be before it falls totally apart. As much as I love T1 and T2 (I liked T3, too, although it was notably weaker than the original movies), this TV series has nothing to offer after the pilot and thinking about the possible story lines, there doesn't seem to be a lot of free paths to take.
I think acting in the pilot was pretty bad, the silly one-liners sounded cheesy (maybe for a younger ADD-crowd?) and the plot is already full of holes, after only one episode.
I don't want to go into more details (don't want to waste more time on it.) I admit, I'll probably watch a few more episodes to see if I'm proved wrong, but the future doesn't look bright to me for this series. It's kind of sad, it could have fair amount of potential.

OK, that was too easy.
Note: This review is solely based on the pilot, I've not seen any of the follow-up episodes (and most likely won't).
While watching this all I could think was who green lights these projects? It was classic bad TV writing, exploiting a franchise bringing NOTHING new to the story.
Now if you like WB class shows you're probably going to like this as it's full of cheesy lines, plot holes and classic time travel paradoxes.
I do have to wonder the reason they gave John a hot teenage terminator as a guardian (Cameron). Was it so he can teach her to love and they'll have sexual tension between them? (ugh) And why does "Cameron" need a bra? There's a "harness those" scene where Sarah was getting an eyeful of Terminator Tata that certainly was gratuitous but are we to believe this model has soft bouncy fun bags?
At some point (for my sake) the writers will need to explain why the future brains sent a teenage class terminator. Sending something Cameron size just doesn't make sense as her body mass can't possibly be enough to fight with the full sized terminator. It's like watching a VW fighting a Mac Truck and yet magically she can beat the juice out of her opponent.
And what is up with these terminators after John, they can't seem to find their target, in classic action crap fashion they're always a foot behind or delay a second too long to fire. No wonder they're losing the future war.
So, why did this get a green light again?

Dude, I'm sure you're a great guy, and I'm guessing you didn't get the final say on the pilot script, but geez. . . a great brand in the Terminator, excellent base on which to build a series, and we're subjected to dialogue and plot contrivances that, while not anyone can fix, someone with a little experience should have smoothed out. I suppose one cannot complain, but when you've gotten used to a show like LOST and 24 and a small handful of series that are truly engaging, not by concept alone, but because characters are so well constructed, you'd expect more out of a Terminator franchise. Yes: expect more from a Terminator franchise. First two films, good/great writing. Third film, never saw it, and probably for the better. The series will attract the viewers who don't know better, but how long will that last? Well, if history is an indicator, maybe 10. . . 15 years. Nevertheless, how about this: just no on-the-nose dialogue, eh? I mean, that's 101 stuff, isn't it? And if it's the producers forcing this dribble into scenes, stage a protest. Seriously. Strike on bad dialogue.

Well.. what can I say?? The pilot is very disappointing. The plot and acting leave a lot to be desired. It is full of cheesy one liners that are enough to make you cringe.
There were various intervals throughout where I stopped to think "what the hell is going on here, is this for real".
From what I have seen so far, the series has lost a lot of the charisma that made the original movies stand out from the crowd.
It seems that the producers have dumbed it down to suit a younger audience which, in a sense is a shame because this could have been so much better.

When I saw the pilot I thought, good it is not so bad. After that I saw the second series and I was starting to be disappointed again since the Terminator 3. The good guard terminator of John Conner seemed so good in the pilot, so humane, but after that it is just so ridiculous, that freezing face all the time, also in their new school she acts like a retard.
I just do not get it, FOX has to stop digging into the Terminator story, they just have to accept that it is over since Terminator 2 and stop making such bad series and films. I wonder why they continue. Just have a look around the other comments, most of them are bad, THE MORE YOU DIG, THE WORSE IT GETS

It's time to put Terminator to sleep. Everything since T2 has been abysmal and this attempt at milking the franchise for even more money with a series doesn't work. Because the series was wrapped up at the end of T2, T3 had to use more time travel to invent a continuation of the plot and this is no different; time travel is used far too much in this series.
The first season was watchable and the plot was OK even though the characters were unlikable. The second season had so many people coming and going through time that not even the characters themselves were aware of who was who and what was going on and why. Almost every new episode in season 2 introduced either a new human or terminator and I was left wondering for whose side they were fighting and why. They even had a T-1000 badly played by the lead singer of Garbage who was at first evil, then good, then by the end, not so sure. The season didn't wrap up nicely and I was left wondering what the significance of John Henry was.
The characters are terrible. John Connor has been played by so many different actors that one could be forgiven for thinking he has multiple-personality syndrome. The actor who played him had "school-teenager with a secret double life" in mind. Sort of a Buffy of the Terminator universe. Sarah Connor has metamorphosed into a woman now so strong that she can fight and win against any man, no matter how big and I was thinking why a good terminator was needed when this super strong woman was taking care of things. Also, the actress that played her had one of those mouths that when she smiles her lips actually go down rather like Kate Winslet. The good terminator was of course a woman who for some reason found it easy to pretend to be human in the first episode then after she was "outed" found it extraordinarily difficult to mimic human emotions. Bizarre indeed. She played the character much like Kristanna Loken did from T3 which is a bad copy of Robert Patrick's excellent performance. Other characters were introduced like Kyle Reese's brother but I found them boring and an attempt at adding soap opera emotion to a series famed for its action.
A convoluted plot, bad acting, bad writing, plot holes and another attempt at making more money from the Terminator franchise equals a very bad show. I'm pleased that TV executives binned this and didn't listen to the protesting no-lives.
