Really funny

'Party Down' is a great show, it's a shame that it has such a small number of fans and that no one really watched it.

The acting is great; the cast work perfectly with each other. The little mini stories between characters in the show are hilarious, particularly the rivalry between Roman and Kyle.

The script is really funny; the scenarios get more and more ridiculous as the series goes on but it doesn't stop getting funny. Sometimes the ending of an episode can be a bit predictable but it still makes you laugh.

The plot is basically about a group of wannabe actors and writers who can't seem to become successful and work as waiters for a catering business to make money. They are rarely shown working, casually drink and take drugs on the job and argue with each other constantly. The plot seems so simple yet it is brilliant and works perfectly.

If you have not watched this series yet I would strongly suggest you do so. You may be familiar with some of the actors; Lizzy Caplan, Adam Scott and Jane Lynch with some guest stars featuring throughout the series.

Smart comedy that caters to the Nerd Cast crowd

Here is a show I've been meaning to binge but I kept forgetting in favor of other better known titles. I'm so glad I finally remembered! The show centers on a crew of misfit caterers and each party they work. As someone who worked in the catering industry for years I find a lot of relatable circumstances here. The writing is sharp and funny. Each episode is one party. The party guests fill out the scenery and make this show quick and funny without becoming too full of itself. Many of the actors have gone on to bigger projects and there are even some huge names we know today filling out smaller roles. PD is like a small entertainment time capsule one would find on a back shelf of an old blockbuster video store. We see Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Martin Starr (who looks and sounds like he is still completing puberty here), Jane Lynch, Josh Gad, JK Simmons, And many more all one or two projects away from their big breaks here. For that reason alone makes Party Down a fun watch. You will see many more easily recognizable faces as well. I recommend sitting down one day and taking this show in. You will laugh at the dated technology and un-PC dialogue knowing this isn't that far in the past.

Funny Show, but...

I enjoy the show's commitment to finding the most awkward and uncomfortable situations for their cast to navigate. However, the character of Casey is the most self-centered, least appealing person on the show by far. I've liked the actress in many other things she has done-but, man, I do not feel one ounce of the sympathy I am supposed to feel for her here.

Great

Finally catching up on the new 2023 3rd season, I had originally watched this close to its original seasons and loved it, so catching back up after all this time was certainly welcome. Created by John Enbom (Good Doctor), Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd (that one), and starring Adam Scott as the lead Henry Pollard, we follow Henry, an out-of-work, struggling actor as he works for an event catering company, headed by Ron Donald (Ken Marino). All sorts of hilarity ensues, as the large cast of characters (including Lizzy Caplan, Megan Mullally, Jane Lynch, and even Jennifer Garner in the new season) break rules, try out for roles, and host parties. With some adult themes, I laughed a great bit during the entire thing and have much love for the original two seasons, they're definitely my favourite. This latest "revival?" season was shorter at only 6 episodes (previously 10), and felt a bit of a trial to see if there was still public interest in the show, and like many re-union seasons some characters don't make it in all episodes, likely due to scheduling conflicts (or lack of interest). Unfortunate, but is what it is, I do honestly hope we see a fleshed out season four finale at full length, but we'll see how it goes. Great show, would recommend.

ARE WE HAVING FUN YET

This show is hilarious the storyline isn't super strong and it is what it is a sitcom comedy that provides offbeat quirky humor with a cast that doesn't have many weak links everyone's funny and has their moments and every episode is new a new environment new goofy chaos and each character has their own vibe it's raw and I am hoping for another season but definitely worth the watch I rate it a 8.3 out of 10.

Hilarious

I don't know why this show never got more buzz, it's hilarious.

It's only 2 seasons which is disappointing, but it does make a great show to binge watch.

If you've never heard of it, check it out, i think you're in for a treat.

Cheers,

The Third Season Was Unnecessary

My review is as follows:

Season 1: 9 stars Season 2: 8 stars Season 3: 6 stars

I really enjoyed the first two seasons and found myself laughing out loud quite often! However, I do not understand why a third season was even created, and why it happened thirteen years after the second season ended. The third season just felt completely unnecessary. It did not have any of the original writers and directors (e.g., Bryan Gordon, Fred Savage) and it showed! The original characters were still pretty good, but the new characters added nothing to the third season at all. If you decide to watch this show, I would recommend stopping after the second season.
