Pretentious

A magician trying to elevate his art to another level that try to prove it can be more than just illusion or mentalism, but ultimately fall flat to a pretentious and cringeworthy performance. Filled with disjointed anecdote in hoping to achieve some sense of inspiration and self-discovery, while sandwiching between some sleight of hand card tricks and letters to shed a few tears from the audiences. The self titled 'roulettista' is the ultimate entry to cringetopia. If you are hoping for some sense of enlightenment or a renewed sense of purpose, best grab some motivational book or listen advice from someone you look up to instead of wasting your time watching this.

Meh!

Watched because a recommendation. It was very very slow and drawn out with tons of fake emotions from "Derek" which left me struggling. I found it incredibly pretentious. The stories didn't really work together. If it was cut to 45 mins i might have liked it a bit more. Probably works better as a stage show. Some decent tricks but only a handful in an hour and a half?? Expected something special but this wasn't it.

Emotionalism & slight of hand

Emotionalism & slight of hand tricks is what this show is all about.

The social message is spot on and he is to be admired for this clever way of bringing it to the forefront. But the visual 'tricks' have so been done the show becomes trying. Plus the teary-eyed participants all seem - dare I say - predictable.

If you like magic shows this one is good. But it's slow getting there.
