What a waste. A waste of talented actors, a waste of my time, and a waste of a great nostalgic reboot opportunity. The plot was trite, the characters were under developed and made me not care what happened to any of them.
Is this the future of modern day film? Made for, and by people whose idea of entertainment is an endless string of 30 second Tic Tok videos? Have attention spans become so short that filmmakers have completely abandoned a cohesive story arc, and character development?
What utter rubbish. It began as a movie that didn't know what it was, with zero jeopardy in the first 45 minutes and a flabby intro sequence. The script was absent, the acting was like a sketch on Saturday Night Live where the celebrity cast just turned up and winged it. Eventually it limped towards a demonstration of stunts with a flimsy plot that absolutely no-one could have cared less about. There was never any genuine sense of danger, no character arcs and no even half decent humour to excuse this. I am flabbergasted anyone could write anything positive about this.
Save your time and money. A single photo of Heather Thomas in a pink bikini is more interesting than this entire film. The director should be ashamed.

Obviously some peoples cup of tea, but i had to bin this off after 40 minutes. The comedy wasn't funny. Blunt's performance was beyond blunt. Annoying's an understatement. The storyline was lame. Better off watching the old Lee Major's TV series tbh. I usually like Gosling and enjoy most of his movies but this part would have been better off given to Jackie Chan. It was well presented from what i managed to watch, but was far too slapstick to what i prefer. Like i say, some will love it and clearly they do from the 7.1 rating (at time of writing). Me, i'd sooner try my own stunts at home than sit through 40 minutes of this again.

Managed to sit through the first 40 mins and had to turn it off. It didn't know if it was trying to be a comedy or serious or a romcom. One of the worst movies I have ever started to watch. So predictable, not at all funny, such a shame as i was looking forward to watching it. I loke Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt and Hannah Waddington is brilliant. The script was really awful too. Last time I managed to sit through 40 mins of a really bad movie was Aquaman, but I think The Fall Guy was actually worse. Ryan Gosling was good in Barbie but he's not a comedy actor. Emily Blunt is a good actress but wasted in this movie.

This film is really bad. Blunt and Gosling I think were cast to be looked at, and the story is non existent trollop at best. The chemistry between characters that have no development whatsoever is non existent, because it has no ingredients. I really fail to understand how this could be called entertaining. I and my wife watched this rubbish for about 45 minutes and could stand no more. There are worse films maybe but this one would be hard to beat. Maybe somewhere in amongst the full movie there is a moment or two that is funny or fun, but I never saw anything at all that could be described that way in the first 45 boring monotonous minutes .
Save yourself the tedious , nonsense and watch anything else!

So many of my favourite actors. Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Hanna Waddingham (saviourly miscast) all wasted in this badly written and directed movie.. The action sequences were not very well produced though I must admit some of the scenes from the movie within a movie looked fairly exciting..the movie with Jason Momoa looked interesting but wouldn't bring me into a theatre. So fortunate to have seen this on VOD had I wasted time traveling to a theatre I would have left in a very foul mood. I wish Ryan Gosling would find a role that could utilize his charm and talents.. the scene I hated most was the karaoke..
What a dumb waste of talent. Yes, the Stunts are good, but we've seen them all before. What time isn't spent with people beating each other up is spent with the dumbest dialogue ever. It's supposed to be funny but it just isn't. Don't waste your time and money. Why would Blunt and Gosling, both tremendous talents make such a stupid movie? The payday must have been ginormous. If you want to see great stunts with both good, and sometimes funny dialogue, revisit any of the 007 movies with Sean Connery. I did watch the entire movie but only because I wasted $20 to watch it on Netflix. The reviews suggest a decent film, but don't believe it unless you're 13 years old.
My husband and seventeen year old only watched about half of Fall Guy. We continuously kept thinking that it was going to get better, but it just did not get better but worse. It's an absolutely terrible movie. I wish I could get my $19.99 back from renting it!!! It made absolutely no sense at all. If I had to spend time in the same room with these two characters, I would absolutely lose my mind! I would invest in ear plugs for sure. We all agreed that watching The Fever game we taped would be a better choice than watching the rest of this movie. Talk, talk, talk, talk talk about nothing should be the name of this movie.
Starts off slow and gets slower by the minute. Story is ALL over the place and never really gets going. I was promised, in the trailer, a lot of action and stunts and just something. What I got was a love story, and a really poorly made one at that.
The movie was shot well I will say that. Lighting and what not it was beautiful. But a lot of things lost in here. ATJ was completely just misused for lack of a better word, and I think he is actually really good. His character development was just kind of non existent. All the others were fine just nothing exciting here
This now marks the 2nd Ryan Gosling movie that was just a train wreck from the start and rather boring tbh. The other shall not be named because of the blind love people have for it. My initial thoughts are if you liked that you'll like this because you simply have no taste and enjoy overhyped things.

This is the worst movie I've seen in a long time. It's a snooze fest, totally boring. Deceptive marketing lures you in by showing you almost all the action in the previews. After the first sixty minutes I almost stopped watching but out of respect for Ryan and Emily I thought, "Maybe the second half is better." WRONG!
There was maybe six minutes of action in the first hour. In the second hour I stopped caring. I kept fast forwarding it bit by bit to see if anything worthwhile would happen.
The best part were the credits. I was glad that they gave the real Fall Guy, Lee Majors a cameo and Heather Thomas as well.
One thing is absolutely certain, I won't ever watch this movie again.

If you are looking for a cinema without a script and beyond the imagination of action, with continuous irrelevant music... this is the movie for you. Maybe if I had hyperactivity I could relate to its action adventures. It's really a pity for a great idea and a lot of filming costs. A movie that could have turned into a masterpiece about the life of Stunt actors behind the scenes of the cinema, whose right is really being abused in the advancement of the film industry ...has really turned into a screenwriting disaster. Unfortunately, after the first 5 minutes of the movie, it is impossible to follow the story of the movie. While the movie is full of unnecessary action scenes, not even a bad screenplay has been written for it, but the whole story takes place in the personal fantasies of a certain person who imagined this movie. It seems that the story of the film is more like a stunt torture that the viewer has to suffer through...
Thought the movie was an action comedy, but it was clear that they skipped the comedy and force added drama instead, then they skipped the action and replaced that with weird annoying romance instead. Why label something as an action comedy when it's a drama romance? I don't understand this at all. I don't like romance, and I hate slow boring drama.
I did NOT like this bait and switch one bit.
Why do I need to use so many characters to review this time waste movie? The movie is bad and you should skip it and keep scrolling the streaming services for a proper action comedy.
Avoid avoid avoid!!!

...... bother to read the reviews posted here to determine if you're totally out of touch with reality or if Paid Bots are messing with IMBD. On closer examination you find that the majority of simpering 10/10 reviews have only one film to their history of reviews. I must admit I found a profound sense of relief that I hadn't moved planets and missed the new culture that makes terrifically awful moves with zero plot and wastes the admittedly lovely acting of two super stars. One has to try really hard to make a film so long boring painful and dumb. I am not sure I can even find one good thing to say.

I have no words. The fact that this was funded beggars belief. Hats off to the actual special effects guys but even they failed to redeem this movie.
Poor acting, zero plot and embarrassing final product. Can't believe anyone liked this drivel.
A primary school show could have delivered s better production. It is incredulous that such high calibre actors put their names to this.
Whatever is happening in America should stop. Cease these pointless remakes or reinterpretations of classic films and tv shows. Surely someone has the capacity to write a basic plot instead of this puerile mush.
I lost interest within half an hour and nothing could salvage the film for me.

I cannot understand all the good reviews on this. It's terrible!! We stuck with it thinking that something decent must happen but it doesn't. It could have had potential, the storyline has legs, but the acting is horrendous, how can they be so bad. If you start this and don't like it after five minutes, quit now, don't put yourself through it.

I love an action movie. I even like the actors but this was a very loud boring movie. It was action packed but (again) loud and very little story line. I streamed it and it took me all day to watch it, as i kept making myself sit and finish it. The best part is the bloopers at the end, where lee majors let's him run into the bombing field for cell service. They want to stop him but lee majors says...let him go. Seriously this is not in the movie so spoiler here and the only reason that i saw it was because i let the film roll while i wrote this review. As i said, action packed, loud, goofy, boring movie.

There is 2 hours of my life I shall never have back. Expecting a decent movie, The Fall Guy is a major letdown. The script is terrible, with a weak storyline and jokes that fall flat. I couldn't make it past the first 50 minutes before turning it off in frustration and boredom. Emily Blunt's performance is disappointing, and I honestly don't understand the hype she always receives. The movie lacks any engaging elements and fails to entertain on any level.
The direction is sloppy, the pacing is off, and the characters are one-dimensional.
Save your time and skip this one. It should be renamed "The Failure of Hollywood."

Boring, No chemistry between the leading actors whatsoever, Screenplay written by 10 years old, very very unnecessary long, Could not wait to finish.

I don't understand why studios associate movies with iconic TV series...then proceed to trash that legacy.
I really wanted to love this film, but I got 3 quarters of the way through this movie, before switching it off. I just couldn't watch anymore. It was nothing like the TV series apart from having characters that were named the same. The comedy fell flat the actors were just going through the motions. Where was the drama , the grit.... I didn't feel any emotions at all watching this movie. It was a complete waste of time.

My, oh my, oh my...
We went to see Civil War a couple of weeks ago... That was a good film, thought provoking, tense, quite scary really. Why do I mention this? Because we saw the trailer for The Fall Guy. It looked witty, exciting and well made. My god it was dull.
Now, to be fair it may have been only the first 40 minutes that were dull, the rest might have been edge of the seat, thrills and spills, interspersed with witty repartee and hilarious sight gags. Sadly we may never know, because we decided to exit the cinema and carry on with the rest of our lives unburdened with the blandness of an underwritten, load of nonsense.
I have no idea what film all the 10 star reviewers refer to, it certainly wasn't The Fall Guy.

I appreciate that both studios and stars want to maximize income and profit, and that sometimes a star vehicle film is cynically made, but this film is, by far, the most cynical and irritating piece of tat I've seen in years. Unfortunately it's not in the "so bad, it's good" class of films, it's in the "so bad, it's the most irritating film that your likely to see in a long time, so really don't bother" category. Indeed, even if you are a masochist, you'd be upset at the level of mediocrity, self knowing in-jokes and, quite frankly, self indulgent piece of twaddle, that is this film.
I have nothing against Reynolds's or Blunt, and have enjoyed films that they have been in, but this risible piece of junk should be put out of our misery and quietly disposed of, after its run, and all those involved allowed a chance to remove it from their CVs.
Having said that, I'm sure there will be people out there who enjoy this. If there are, we should pray for them.

I didn't really have any expectations for this movie. I only went to go see it because I was bored, had free tickets and wanted some movie theater popcorn really.
Before the movie starts, both the director and Ryan Gosling pop up to tell you this movie is a love letter to the stuntmen who work in the film industry. It is not...at all.
This movie is boring and Ryan Gosling plays a character that we've seen in these action movies, a billion times before. The wise cracking, never take anything really too serious, good guy who ends up saving the day at the end. But this movie kinda throws a curve ball because there isn't much action. They overload you with this boring romance storyline between Ryan Gosling and Emily "pass the" Blunt, which is what this movie is really all about. I couldn't care less about it.
I've never seen the TV show that this movie is supposedly based on, but I bet it's nothing like this movie. Hollywood really doesn't care about the stunt men in the movie industry if this is really a love letter to them. You'd be better of just saving your money and waiting until this movie hits streaming.
