Pure entertainment

While watching this movie, I found myself smiling nearly the entire time. If you are looking for pure, unfettered fun (in the form of romcom action of course), then this is the movie for you. The plot was fun, the acting was solid, the situations that the characters found themselves in were hysterical, the action was on point, the cinematography was nice, and the romance was entertaining. Upon leaving the theater, I couldn't think of any complaints. Again, I was just smiling. Sure, there may be some ambiguities about the context and background of the antagonist's intentions, but I was too involved in the fun to care. 10/10 film.

Fun to watch!

This movie is crafted not only to entertain but also to honor the hardworking film staff whose dedication often goes unrecognized. The lead actors, celebrated for their versatility, deliver performances that bring depth and charm to their roles, making every scene more engaging. This action-comedy strikes an exceptional balance between adrenaline-pumping action and lighthearted humor, setting a new benchmark for the genre. The fast-paced sequences, witty dialogues, and dynamic performances ensure an exhilarating experience from start to finish. Every moment is packed with energy, making it a joyride of excitement and laughter. The direction, cinematography, and editing work in harmony to enhance the film's appeal, ensuring it stays entertaining throughout. A movie like this, or even one that surpasses it, exemplifies what an action-comedy should be. For our family, it's an absolute 10/10-memorable, delightful, and worth revisiting time and again.

Watch the "Extended Cut" version

So the first version I saw of The Fall Guy was the "Extended Cut" and I thought the movie was awesome! (And no it's not because of Ryan Gosling. Last movie I saw him in was Remember the Titans) It has action, comedy, with a little awkward romance sprinkled in.

I then watched the theatrical version and there were so many parts missing that explained the storyline. Some of the music was different and didn't seem to fit and the jumping back and forth through the scenes was confusing.

The "Extended Cut" explains so much and the storyline flows so much better. I highly recommend watching the Extended Cut over the theatrical version.

"The Fall Guy" is insanely fun, with incredibly cool action scenes

"The Fall Guy" is insanely fun, with incredibly cool action scenes, romantically charming elements, and a captivating world of stuntmen. It's full-on entertainment, especially for film enthusiasts, with meticulously crafted action sequences in both real and fake movies that look fantastic, grand, and impressively complete. Both Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have impeccable chemistry, and the portrayal of the stuntman profession is sharp. The film cleverly satirizes the Hollywood industry with excellence.

Watching this movie in theaters is an absolutely delightful experience. Director David Leitch nails every aspect of the film, truly delivering on the action-packed excitement.

Fall Guy - An action movie you can bring your wife to!

I have no clue how this movie can have negative reviews! It has everything a good movie needs! ACTION! Adventure, ACTION, love, ACTION, blackmail, ACTION, romance and did i mention action? It started off kind of slow and i wasnt sure i was going to like it. Well here i am i was sitting on the edge of my freaking couch in suspense absolutley couldnt wait to find out what was going to happen next. This movie is one of my all time favorites! I read the 1 star reviews before watching this and they had some pretty dumb complaints like way too much romance or love scenes when it's hardly that! Its an action movie you can bring your wife to!

One of the best

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen and I am only 12 years old. This movie is just the right amount of action and comedy. Some people think that it is all over the place but I think it is perfect, there should be more movies like The Fall Guy. At the end of the movie I was sad that it was over and I don't think that I will ever be able to find a movie like it ever again. My mom, dad, brother, and I all watched this together and all found it very interesting and entertaining, however my mom fell asleep... but that's just because she was really tired. Again, this is one of the best movies ever.

Just plain fun, so much fun and entertaining

I can't understand why people dis this movie since it is meant to be purely for entertainment. Don't over think the plot, just enjoy the movie. Everyone does a fantastic job. And the special guest actors (JM is one of them) before the end of the movie are great. And don't miss the extras goodies in the credits. Plus, be sure to catch the action stuntmens' reel at the end.

It's not high drama. Just sit back and have fun. That's what it's meant to be. Listen and watch really close because there is so much to take in. Love Ryan and Emily even more. Ryan is so versatile. Emily does comedy so well. They play off each other so well.

This is not a stunt

It is multiple stunts - ha got you there, right? So no pun intended as always? Now if you think my jokes are weird, prepare yourself for weirder ... action in this one. I remember that I watched the tv show this is based on. But it's been a while - so I do not remember how this fares comedy and humor wise.

That said, Ryan and Emily have bombastic chemistry (sorry?) - the dialog is tight, the action/stunts are amazing .... and the story really works. Add to that a soundtrack that you should absolutely love (even more so if you like 80s music), references to the 80s and another show (including a musical cue ... added to the visuals that is) ... and a lot of fourth wall breaking ... you may even argue: the fourth wall is being evaporated! I reckon that about sums it up.

This is a love song - not just to love (again no pun intended), but to stunt men ... and women of course. A travesty that they have yet to get a section at the Academy Awards. I still can see the unicorn ... it was that good (you'll get it once you watch - also I am of course kidding - no I did not do that - again you'll get it after you've seen the movie).

Important note at the end ... when the credits start rolling, there are some behind the scenes footage you will see. I thought it would go the Jackie Chan route, but it is just showing what happened behind the cameras - and how they did the stunts and the action. Which come to think about it, was the better choice. But that is not all - so if you may not be too interested in that ... there is a bonus scene coming after that ... and it is quite the nice one! The movie itself has some ... interesting actors, I am sure you will find someone to your liking! And almost everyone is fighting ... (maybe not Kung Fu but still ... passionate and well enough) ... I was going to give it a 9, but then I was like ... come on, why not go the full point route?

Even better than the trailer

I honestly didn't expect to like this as much as I did but it over delivered

It's a great homage to Hollywood & a great nod to all the people that never get a mention at the Oscars, without whom no film 🎥 would be made .

For anyone who's studied film as a degree like me there are so many references there from the obvious like the script font throughout all the credits before & after to the 100s of film references from Tom Cruise to Momento to Raiders , Star Wars , Love actually , Bond movies . Like La la land this was a beautiful pastiche & a nod to Hollywood . It was cheesy at times but in a good way but it set its track along a beautiful romance with plenty of comedy along the way & skulduggery all around , it didn't quite bring me to tears but brought so much happiness that it deserves a 10/10 .

No spoilers as always

I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did , it overdelivered & it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Alien v Cowboys Metal Storm actually gets made !

Go see & enjoy

Pad. A 10/10.

Super fun action packed adventure!

If you are a fan of 80s action shows, this is for you! Add a million high quality adrenaline infused stunt scenes and some fun dialogue and you have 2 hours of quality entertainment! The plot is fun too which usually doesn't occur in this type of movie. Also, I think there was almost no swearing or gratuitousness.

At times it's like you are waiting for the scene to explode but it takes its sweet time. Also the romantic level between the main characters is super cute in a way. This movie twists a little on the norms of today, and has all the characters pulling weight instead of the main female role.

Anyways, super fun and a blast!

an action packed blockbuster, filled with intensity and suspense.

The Fall Guy contains all the elements necessary in a wonderful movie such as comedy, romance, mystery, and most of all: action. With something for lovers of every movie genre, The Fall Guy is a great film to go watch.

The story follows Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling), a retired stuntman who has come out of hiding to work on a movie in hopes of rekindling a year-old love story with the director Jody (Emily Blunt). After discovering Jody has left their relationship in the past, Colt is told that the lead actor Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) has been involved with bad people and is sent on a mission by Tom's producer, Gail (Hannah Waddingham), to find him and, although it won't be easy, he can hopefully save Jody's movie, while getting her to fall back in love with him.

All aspects of this movie are fantastic - something that really stands out to me is the music. Part of the reason it's noticeable is because of the iconic tracks on this film. Viewers of all ages will recognize some of their favorite tunes while watching The Fall Guy. Not only is the music popular, but the use of these songs is unexpected while being perfect at the same time. An example of this is Kiss' "I Was Made For Lovin' You," which can be heard throughout the movie. It's used in many different situations and you can tell the people behind the film knew what they were doing, choosing this as the main track for the film, because it goes so smoothly with the love story behind the mystery and comedy parts of The Fall Guy. The multi-genre part of this movie is also fantastic. Every type of movie lover can find something to enjoy while watching. Ryan Gosling's laidback comedic personality really shines in his performance of Colt Seavers. Throughout the movie the audience will watch moments that are especially hysterical due to Gosling's acting. Gosling and Blunt's quirky, but loving chemistry is so entertaining. Every scene they are in together left me viewers laughing, crying, and swooning. My favorite scene includes a cameo with some Taylor Swift music when Colt replays his relationship with Jody in his head in a little highlight reel to "All Too Well." Jody sees him crying in his car and goes to check on him. Obviously, Colt denies the accusations.

The message of this film is that there's always more than meets the eye. This message can be applied to many different situations, both in life and in the film. Colt talks about how stunt people are the ones who take the falls for the actors and the actors are the ones who win awards and get to be in advertisements. Somebody watching the film would never notice a stuntman because that's his job, to go unnoticed. One reason that Gosling made this film is to appeal to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to establish an award for stunt people.

I give The Fall Guy 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18 plus adults. It releases in theaters May 3, 2024. By Kendall B., KIDS FIRST!

Fun movie night without unnecessary cussing!

Finally! What a fun movie night! This film had a great story, was funny, had action and romance!

I loved that they made this movie with virtually no cussing or nonstop, unnecessary 'F' words. Honestly, we have stopped renting movies because of that - and took a chance on this. We are so glad we did! If you are looking for something that's easy to watch, has some intrigue and it's fun and entertaining - this is it. I wish they would make more movies like this. I also loved the extra moral of the story, that movies and entertainment are great but real life and relationships are even better.

Great job Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt - and the dozens of stunt doubles that had to be in this movie!

Everything I want in a movie

This was such a fun film! The cast was excellent, the storyline solid. I loved the call-to's towards other films and movie making itself. A movie that can, in many ways, make fun of itself while still offering a substantial plot and intrigue is refreshing. I appreciate when films give you what feels like a "behind of the curtain" view at it takes to make them. This one did so in great way. I felt the chemistry between Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling to be believable and natural making the love story a wonderful and fluid part of the plot vs. Something you feel like you just have to tolerate. It was humorous and clever without trying too hard. Honestly, everything I want in a movie. Well done.

MUST SEE IN THEATERS with POPCORN!!

Hmm, I thought this movie would do double of what it did last weekend at the box office. I am surprised but I really should not be with the current generation movie taste and their lack of wanting to leave the house. This movie has everything, and it does it all well, Romance, Drama and of course, action revolving around a stunt man. Think of Lethal Weapon for those that remember but a little bit better with today's CGI and Stunt technology. Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling were outstanding in their roles, and they click very well on screen, and it was nice to see Emily get back into comedy because she is wonderful. I laughed when I was not salivating over the action that was transpiring before my eyes.

A fun movie with a complete experience

Yes, there are things that are a little predictable, but if you come with the attitude of simply enjoying the movie, you will enjoy it.

Gosling brings his uniqueness and attitude that so characterize him, and he completely carries the film. The action is excellent I liked the references for other films.

Maybe something with the villains needs a little more work.

It is important to approach its as a film that is aware of itself. Because it's a movie that talks about movies. If you come and look for the flaws, they are easy to find. But if you come lightly the film flows.

But other than that I had a lot of fun!

ALL THE STARS.

We were all thrilled by this one - that includes myself, my brother, my adult daughter and teenage son!

This was an amazing movie and it truly has something for everyone! Ryan Gosling delivered a phenomenal performance as usual but the action packed sequences paired with perfect romance dynamic were everything to produce a perfectly thrilling movie that had me glued to my seat the entire time. I mean that with no exaggerations either - I didn't even want to get up to go to the bathroom after drinking my Pepsi entirely too fast in the previews because it was so good. I highly recommend this one!

Loved it!

The rare action movie without gore or sex but all the explosions and humor. Ryan Gosling did a great job depicting the unsung hero profession in the film industry - stuntmen have been involved in many of my favorite movies and it was nice to get an inside view as to how some of the stunts are made. Somehow I had never realized that stuntmen were not eligible for Academy Awards, and that is a darn shame.

A heartfelt shoutout to those who decided NOT to make the female characters helpless. And the dog and the soundtrack were both great.

I especially loved the credits footage, which showcased actual stuntmen and songs about them.

Yeahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Wow!!!!! What an absolute cracker of a movie. It's great to see that people are moving away from all those arty farty high brow movies and back to a good old fashioned formula that works. Why waste all that time and effort on plots and story line and boring dialogue when all the fans want to see are car chases, punch ups, setting stuff on fire and blowing stuff up. Admittedly there was a little bit in the middle where there was a bit of talking and stuff but I missed that anyway as I'd had a few cocktails before the movie and had to go out for a wee. Fortunately I could still hear the movie and I didn't miss any of the good stuff. Only a few fart jokes or that gag where that bloke does a massive long wee could top this off.

Best movie of the year

Action romance comedy twist Ryan gosling Emily blunt this movie has it all I've been wanting to see this since the first second of the first trailer and this movie definitely delivers. It gives you thrills laughs and the way the actors work together is great and it's a movie that sticks wuth you way past you watched it I still remember and I saw it on Friday. And after watching this I really did see how action movies need heaps of stuntman and that they are some of the most important people in making these movies that we love and grew up. The only thing I'll say it about that was bad is that some bits from the trailer weren't in it.

Great Tribute

Funny, adventurous, non stop action. No down time, good flowing moving, some CGI flaws nothing that takes away from the over the top action and humor. Woman will love the Pecks and ABS. Gents we get action what else could you need. Emily Blunt is crush worthy as always, great acting. Gosling does a great job and plays a humble role to a tee. Just a fun movie to see. A small dash of politics but short lived and it doesn't affect the dynamic or fun of the overall film like most films produced today. It made me so happy just to sit and laugh at a movie again. In fact there was even a little drama to the movie and might draw a small tear from some, at least those that have loved and fallin out of love but never meant to.

Had a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed this movie and had a lot of fun and for sure it brought back many many nice memories from my childhood to the original TV series with Lee Majors, Douglas Barr, Markie Post, and Heather Thomas; but it also references many to other (old) movies and TV series.

I liked especially in this movie they did not attempt to make some 1:1 remake of the original series.

One thing however I noticed and would not have expected (as an oversight) with that many class A casts hence big(ger) budget is: The movie plays in Australia for the most part but the cars have their wheel on the left side.

Absolutely loved it

I've felt a bit rough today yet still wanted to see the early ish screening in IMAX so worth it! I own all the other David Leitch films I'll definitely want to own this one. So well made entertainment, great humor most of the way through a couple times I was the only one laughing, all of the action was outstanding I'm sure all the stunt work was fun, and great dialogue! Pretty sure this is David's first PG-13 film all the others are rated R, great for more audience I even got to see next to a beautiful mom that smelled really good that was nice she seemed to enjoy quite a bit too. I even biked home despite having 4 hours sleep and was achy; well worth it no matter what I hope others love Fall Guy as well!
