Jeremy Irvine, Hermione Corfield, Jamie Roy, and Harriet Slater in Outlander: Blood of My Blood (2025)

Review by kia77-441-809117

Outlander: Blood of My Blood

Not As Good, Disappointing Actually

Similarly to other Outlander fans, I also wanted to like it but it is nowhere near as good as Outlander. Ellen and Brian's love is really shallow, for a woman like her to fall in love so easily is not believable. The actress is beautiful, great that she is a natural redhead with blue eyes unlike Brianna but her accent is not authentic. Why couldn't the creators give this role to a Scottish actress is beyond me. The actors who play Murtagh and Brian - they carry the show, they were awesome choices. Also, again, why the unnecessary gory, bloody and the mature scenes? To make a good series you don't need nudity. To make it a massive hit with a larger audience it is better not to include such scenes. We get the idea that Dougal is a womanizer, no need to show anyone's breasts or bottom. The story should sell the movie, the music, the scenery and the actors - like in Outlander. Sick and tired of this. And there is no way an English couple in the early 20th century or even mid-1900s were so sensual. Lazy script writing it is. I find it extremely difficult to go on after E02. If I do, it'll be for Murtagh and Jocasta's story and Brian.
