Only the first two episodes were interesting. After that the movie focused more on attorney John's feet and his relationship with the cat rather than the murder case and the trial. It was going very slow and very boring.

Feel like watching this is a waste of my time. So many good series out there and this is simply filled with cliches, For a supposedly smart guy the main guy does some pretty stupid things. The background of the characters feel shallow. The quirky lawyer with weird attributes and a skin condition. It feels like they've taken the guide book how to write a tv series and followed it with random choices.
Save your time and watch something good like Better call Saul.

I'd been recommended this show so finally gave it a shot. Based on a British series written by Steven Moffat, a young man steals his fathers taxi cab to hit up a late night party in NYC but things go south when he meets a stranger, ends up back at her place, and wakes up with amnesia to find her murdered. A pretty standard feeling police procedural (turned court procedural at the end), Riz Ahmed is fantastic as the lead, and John Turturro shines as his eczema ridden lawyer. I was quite invested by half way through the single season series, however the later half transitions into the trial for his (Riz Ahmed's) innocence and frankly falls off the deep end. The court case scenes are terrible compared to the rest of the series, and as many of the early minor characters show up again with a more prominent role you see why those actors were chosen for more minor characters. The believability and pacing goes away, and suddenly I'm watching something that feels more like CSI / Law & Order than it does a critically acclaimed HBO series. Also right near the end it brings about a major the cliffhanger for a second season and then promptly got cancelled. Whoops.

I am not sure why the pace is so slow and majority of dialog and scenes don't advance the story an iota. I can appreciate the character development phase but too many distraction and irrelevant scenes. The prison drama seems like a filler for lack of strong mystery development elements; And what's up with so many shots of John Stone's feet? I don't know how it ends but I can tell you if it is anything like how it is progressing, it will be a yawn. I quit after the third episode even though I kept forwarding 5 to 10 minutes at the time. I can tell you the entire three episodes could have easily be nicely done in 45 minutes. You can fast forward 30 minutes and barely miss a point. I just don't know how and why these TV mini series get done this way. I guess it's good for the crew and director to drag the hell out of it.
All in all, great acting, nice dramatic moments but weak plot, major gaffs (no blood on the defendant which no one mentions)(the important cut in his hand is not checked against the blood on the broken window to dispute DA), too many holes in to mention. Instead the story keeps shedding light on various potential suspects that could have done this. still i think fans of pure drama would enjoy the acting and the main character acting is superb in his transformation albeit unrealistic.

Not very good. Turturro's character is interesting but annoying. The American-Pakistani actor's acting is pretty terrible, his character's behavior not believable. you can totally see he is acting. He actually seem lobotomized throughout the series.

Drugs, lies, stupidity and police involvement. It's like something a teenager had written - slow moving and boring with some race issues involved but still very disappointing from episode 1.
This series came recommended, I am not sure why. I stuck it out to the end and left very disappointed throughout the entire series. Firstly, the series was ridiculously unrealistic in so many ways, just over the top. I have a hard time watching a series that makes the main character and life in prison so far fetched. As far as the characters, their storylines had nothing to do with the series and needless filler that could have been avoided. The main character was unlikable from the start, in my eyes, he just seemed like he was not a good person, hard to read and capable of murder as he was tried for in the series. The layout of the series is boring, with needless filler and unrealistic content. Disappointing.

The first episode was the best, everything that followed kept going downhill every episode. The show was too slow with a lot of inconsequential storylines that make it hard to watch as a crime based series. I'm shocked this was rated so highly here, it was pretty abysmal.
The cast is boring and dull, none of them appealed to me and it seemed like a low budget series that was dragged along more than necessary.
If you have literally nothing to watch and are okay falling asleep watching a crime based series, give this a try. Otherwise, pass this as you won't miss anything and can use your time to take a nap instead.

I watched this series because it was on top list on some web site i found at 2017 i think, then i thought it was a good show.
The begging was ok, it shows us what happened, that looked fine. Then it started to eb boring and boring and i wanted to watch it still to the end and i just can it was waste of my time. Maybe i didnt understand the story or something like that , or i expected more because i watched it after Breaking Bad...
I dont know, for me this series doesnt have any sence...

The entire series could have got finished in three episodes. Lot of unnecessary situations and scenes make it lot dull and drifts you away and starts getting sluggish. You can just keep waiting till the end for some kinda surprise but you won't get it and the credits will roll on!
It surely starts well and looks promising but it loses its pace from fourth episode. While sitting and watching this you will start questioning yourself about so many unnecessary plots which actually make it lengthy. It surely contains Crime but after few episodes you tend to lose interest in finding out the mystery and just would want to end it as soon as possible...

I swear a fifth of this show is dedicated entirely to this man dealing with his eczema, WE GET IT ALREADY !!! Like i didn't know i was signing up to watch a ped-egg infomercial, geez !!
The "good" person to "bad" person arc is not well done in this show, it's wayyyy too unbelievable. And not just with the main character either... there are numerous moments where you're like, c'mon, there's absolutely no chance this character would choose to do this.
Idk, some parts seemed to be too drawn out with bits of superfluous information, while other parts seemed way too rushed and didn't include enough details.
