As incredibly hard as it is to decipher, the film really makes sense as a whole if you think about it enough as everything at the end comes together. At first you might think, well some of it doesn't make sense and is it because the plot changed halfway, but after giving it deep thought everything makes sense. These types of movies that get you thinking are the best and the most memorable ones and as always, Miyazaki never fails to deliver despite the movie being more personal than it actually is. This movie was probably not meant for the young as they might not understand what is happening considering its complex plot.
