This isn't anywhere near as gritty or gripping as Kin or Love/Hate. It's slow, ponderous, and verging on boring. We're 2 episodes in, and we're hoping episode 3 improves, as some characters are just as unbelievably flimsy as the plot and script. The set up for the plot, and consequences are full of holes, does a mansion in Spain, rented by gangsters really have no CCTV? Are Colombian gangsters that easy going? Watch Kin or Love/Hate for more believable gritty scripts, characters. As I'm not sure of the reviews who say they had to binge watch it, if it doesn't improve I'll be watching it binned.
I've watched this 4 times now, and i am still finding new jokes, there's an FB fan page that'll give you hints as what to watch for.
A great return of a great villan, with a great link to The Wrong Trousers. The jokes come thick and fast, and after your first watch you'll need to freeze frame to catch jokes you've missed. Ignore those moaning, this is a great Aardman film, that you'll keep on watching, and have you going back to other films for the running jokes. The nods to films like Bond, and The Italian Job will have you cracking up, as will the joke names.
A real family favourite already, as the whole family from grandkids to grandparents have watched it.

Forget the reviews who've wrote this off in the 1st 10 minutes. I think it's got a great storyline that keeps you guessing, every episode ends in suspense. Yes there are annoy characters in it, but if you're in the situation these people are in, it's hardly going to be happy families, is it?
There are plot twists a plenty, to keep the storyline speeding along. I'm a long time fan of David Threlfall, and as always he brings the right level of crazy to this series. The cast as a whole do a great job to make the most threatening of situations believable.
My wife and I really enjoyed it. Well worth a watch.
